Old to New Again!

A quick cheap way to freshen up your house! I took the seat off my phonebooth and recovered it with 7.95 a yard fabric. I also repainted my college colored desk into a more suttle blue and added new hardware!

Get Outside the City

It always comes at just the right time when Zach and I get out of town and go into nature. There is nothing better than doing nothing. You may hike, bike, canoe or take a boat out to camp...cook some food, start a fire and relax. The scenery is amazing, the air is fresh and the only noise is nature. I suggest a trip like this to everyone even if it is a day hike or stroll. I especially suggest this to couples!

Days like today make everyone think of Spring and Summer.. The weather today is sweet and I spent most of my time outside taking photos of my Spring and Summer inspired line of jewelry. Here are some pics!

Stir Fried Turkey Lettuce Wraps

If you like PF Changs lettuce wraps you will love these because they taste the same to me!

1/4 cup soy sauce
4 tsp fish sauce
4 tsp sugar
1 tbsp veg. oil
1 large shallot finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh ginger, peeled and grated
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 small jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped ( I actually did half a green pepper finely chopped bc I hate jalapenos)
1 pound ground turkey (93% lean)
2 large heads of boston or iceburg lettuce

What I am Thankful For

This Thanksgiving passed and I realized when our family was at the dinner table we never said what we were thankful for. So around Christmas time I asked if the we could go around the table and say what we should have said during Turkey Day! Things got emotional and then turned funny really fast of course due to Jackie (one of the funniest people I have ever met)! But after all was said and done my favorite words came from Jackie herself. She said it took her a while to figure it out but she realized her sisters were her best friends. I of course already felt this towards her being the youngest sister, but I will never forget what she said! This month alone has been sad for a few families I know losing loved ones so I wanted to add this post to remember that there is nothing like your Family and tell them you LOVE them every single day!

My Daily Savior

A few years ago my old Bible study teacher Mrs Reynolds gave me this daily devotional " Battlefield of the Mind". This is the second time I am reading it after trying other devotionals that next clicked with me. I love this book! My bed of all places is where I think okay stress the MOST. It is so perfect that the second I open my eyes in the morning and already the wheels are turning I grab my book on my nightstand. I swear it knows what I need to read! The other morning was my favorite and I even got to share it with my sister because she really needed to hear it too! The devotional was all about you controlling your mind and not letting your mind control you! God is here and with you everyday so there is nothing to stress or worry about! I recommend this book to everyone!

A New Year for REBORN

Last year was amazing watching my business grow before my eyes. It has been one incredible journey! January has been a SLOW month to say the least but I accomplished a little bit! Such as painting the mural at Port City CrossFit!

I have actually done some work here at the Studio! One of my FAVORITE Christmas gifts was my brand spankin new Roll Mill! Now I can make patterns on my pieces! I am really excited about a New Year and all it has to offer REBORN!

One of the Greatest Joys.. being and AUNTIE!

One of the coolest things in the world I have to say would be becoming and AUNT! Harper is now 14 months old and she has brought so much joy to our family. I love watching her grow and become a little person! I have noticed that most of my pictures are now of Harper..but she is one photogenic baby!

It has been a while since I blogged... The other day I was having lunch with my sister who told me all about her new adventure in blogging and I told her I had one but don't have the time. She said there is always time you just have to make it! So I decided I am making time! Just an update on some things I have been up to:

One of the greatest things I have introduced in my life is CrossFit! My sister, Tracey and her partner Keith started Port City CrossFit in September 2010. One day I decided I am going to try out this obsession my sister has with this kind of workout and see if I can finally get my life in SHAPE!

I cannot say enough good things about this Gym! The trainers are awesome and so are all their clients! I feel like I am part of a family that is so supportive and helps me acheive my goals! Each day brings an entirely new workout so you never get bored. You constatly push yourself and see results in such a short time you won't believe your eyes when you look in the mirror! They even have Nutrition 101 classes to help you learn how to eat healthy and overall live a better life! Lets just say that at age 26 I am in better shape than when I was in High School weighing barely a hundred pounds and running track and cross country! This place is no ordinary gym and that is the reason I can WAIT to workout..which I have NEVER said before! Thank you Tracey for not only being an amazingly supportive sister but you have put me in the best shape of my life!
