Old to New Again!

A quick cheap way to freshen up your house! I took the seat off my phonebooth and recovered it with 7.95 a yard fabric. I also repainted my college colored desk into a more suttle blue and added new hardware!

Get Outside the City

It always comes at just the right time when Zach and I get out of town and go into nature. There is nothing better than doing nothing. You may hike, bike, canoe or take a boat out to camp...cook some food, start a fire and relax. The scenery is amazing, the air is fresh and the only noise is nature. I suggest a trip like this to everyone even if it is a day hike or stroll. I especially suggest this to couples!

Days like today make everyone think of Spring and Summer.. The weather today is sweet and I spent most of my time outside taking photos of my Spring and Summer inspired line of jewelry. Here are some pics!

Stir Fried Turkey Lettuce Wraps

If you like PF Changs lettuce wraps you will love these because they taste the same to me!

1/4 cup soy sauce
4 tsp fish sauce
4 tsp sugar
1 tbsp veg. oil
1 large shallot finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh ginger, peeled and grated
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 small jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped ( I actually did half a green pepper finely chopped bc I hate jalapenos)
1 pound ground turkey (93% lean)
2 large heads of boston or iceburg lettuce

What I am Thankful For

This Thanksgiving passed and I realized when our family was at the dinner table we never said what we were thankful for. So around Christmas time I asked if the we could go around the table and say what we should have said during Turkey Day! Things got emotional and then turned funny really fast of course due to Jackie (one of the funniest people I have ever met)! But after all was said and done my favorite words came from Jackie herself. She said it took her a while to figure it out but she realized her sisters were her best friends. I of course already felt this towards her being the youngest sister, but I will never forget what she said! This month alone has been sad for a few families I know losing loved ones so I wanted to add this post to remember that there is nothing like your Family and tell them you LOVE them every single day!

My Daily Savior

A few years ago my old Bible study teacher Mrs Reynolds gave me this daily devotional " Battlefield of the Mind". This is the second time I am reading it after trying other devotionals that next clicked with me. I love this book! My bed of all places is where I think okay stress the MOST. It is so perfect that the second I open my eyes in the morning and already the wheels are turning I grab my book on my nightstand. I swear it knows what I need to read! The other morning was my favorite and I even got to share it with my sister because she really needed to hear it too! The devotional was all about you controlling your mind and not letting your mind control you! God is here and with you everyday so there is nothing to stress or worry about! I recommend this book to everyone!
